1. Data Controller

KLABBY ("we", "us") operates the KLABBY mobile and web application.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: email address, display name
  • Boat data: boat specifications, maintenance records, documents, navigation logs
  • Usage data: app interactions and feature usage, via Google Analytics for Firebase — only if you opt in (see section 6)
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and stability data via Firebase Crashlytics
  • Location data: GPS coordinates during active navigation (only when explicitly started)
  • Push token: a notification identifier (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide and maintain the KLABBY service
  • Send notifications about document expirations and maintenance deadlines
  • Understand usage to improve the app (analytics — only with your consent)
  • Diagnose crashes and improve stability (crash reporting)
  • Process payments (when applicable)

4. Legal Bases (GDPR)

  • Consent — usage analytics (you can withdraw it any time, see section 6)
  • Legitimate interest — crash diagnostics and service security/stability
  • Performance of a contract — service push notifications (deadlines)

5. Data Sharing & International Transfers

We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed by:

  • Supabase (authentication, database, storage hosting)
  • Google / Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, push notifications)
  • Stripe (payment processing, web only)
  • Boat co-owners (shared boat data visible to all members)

Transfers to the United States (Google, Stripe) are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Your Choices

  • Analytics: off by default. Enable or disable it any time in Settings -> Privacy.
  • Crash reports: on by default (legitimate interest); you can opt out in Settings -> Privacy.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time; in-app account deletion wipes your data end-to-end.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to: access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing of your personal data.
