Getting started with KLABBY
Your first 10 minutes with KLABBY, from signup to your first boat configured.
Welcome aboard. This guide walks you through your first 10 minutes, from signup to the moment KLABBY actually starts being useful for your boat.
1. Create your account
Open the WebApp or download the app from App Store / Google Play. Signup needs:
- A valid email (you’ll get a confirmation)
- A password (at least 8 characters, no absurd rules)
- Acceptance of Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, EULA
Tip: use the email you already share with your co-owners. It’ll be useful for invitations.
2. Create your first boat
From the webapp home, tap Add boat. Required:
- Name (e.g. “South Wind”)
- Model and yard (e.g. Bavaria 36)
- Year of build
- Usual mooring
- Engine (model, year, current hours)
Only the essentials are mandatory. Everything else can wait.
3. Invite co-owners (if you co-own)
If the boat is co-owned, from the boat screen tap Members → Invite. Enter email and percentage share. Each member gets an invitation; once accepted, they see everything you do. No privileged admin — you’re all equals.
4. Import your documents
Got a folder of invoices and certificates? Snap a picture, one by one or all at once.
KLABBY:
- Extracts date, expiry, amount via OCR
- Categorises the document
- Adds it to the deadline tracker with the right traffic-light status
If OCR misreads a field, fix it in 3 seconds. The document stays attached.
5. Set up your first maintenance
Go to Maintenance → Add job. Pick a preset (engine service, hull check, anode replacement…) or create your own. Set:
- Periodicity (every X months or every Y engine hours)
- Next due date
- Optional custom checklist
When you complete the job, the next cycle is auto-generated.
What’s next?
You’re ready. Explore the Logbook for your first trip, check the Budget to see how it populates from imported invoices.
